Sarah Howe

Sarah Howe has worked for a decade in trade unions for over ten years as an organiser and research officer in Victoria, NSW, and QLD in Australia and in the United States.

Sarah has also spent a further decade working for ALP politicians, local government in Victoria, and in the community sector in the development of social and economic programs to address social issues such as high unemployment and child poverty on public housing estates in the inner city of Melbourne.

Most recently, she completed a Ph.D. at RMIT University which addressed strategies for industrial policy and regional economic development in regions in Europe dominated by car industry manufacturing and approaches to economic diversification led by the European Union.

Sarah has served previously as the Deputy Chair of Victorian Fabians and is the National Convenor of the Co-operatives Policy Group for the Australian Fabians and has been an active member of the Victorian Executive of the Australian Fabians since 2019, overseeing state publications and organised many events focused on labour market and industrial issues.
